Genre: feature documentary
Production Stage: festival circuit
My Role: Edit Assistant
Synopsis: a touching documentary that follows 3 female carpentry students who travel to Swaziland to teach carpentry to a community of Swazi women.
Backstory: the footage was filmed in 2013 by female university film students and was sadly never edited into a final film. So, in 2016 I worked alongside another female editor to create engaging scenes from the 4 week's worth of footage from the Swaziland trip. It was so inspiring to watch the upbeat nature of the Swazi women, despite the majority of them suffering from HIV and poverty. This carpentry project was in association with the charity Positive Women.
